"Colorado" by Jayden Taylor
Updated: Jul 7, 2022
On a summer's ever
Where the mind can breathe
On a timeless shore
Where troubles seemed to be ignored
A spacious time zone
Surrounded by the smooth scent of pine cones
Where the swaying of the trees
Remind you of the feeling of relief
The feeling of being free
In a world filled with dull debris
Dwelling on the possibility
Of no responsibility.
Gazing at the dimming sun
Without a goal left undone
Body shady by the mountain's shadow
Glad to spend the last few hours in Colorado.
Jayden Taylor, sophomore (class of 2024), says of his writing “I’m really into funny writings, realistic but fictional writing, and really whatever comes to my head. My writings might be peaceful, serious or funny. I don’t plan to take writing seriously it’s just something overtime that I’ve picked up on and enjoy.”
